Forming Words: The Constraint of Inspiration

The notion that we could move away from God’s Forming Words and remain culturally productive—or even literate—is proving to be an arrogant mistake.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, (Transcendence)
the Son can do nothing of his own accord, (Hierarchy)
but only what he sees the Father doing. (Ethics)
For whatever the Father does, (Oath/Sanctions)
that the Son does likewise.” (Succession)
(John 5:19)

The premise that every part of the entire text of the Bible shares a common structure, one which operates at multiple levels, has numerous implications. Besides the fact that this is clearly a miracle, there is the question of why such a limitation would be placed by God upon His Words when the words of Man are not constrained in this way. It is certainly a testimony to the Bible’s divine origin, but perhaps there is more to it than this.
